Tatiana Maslany is set to play the titular role in Disney Plus’ upcoming She-Hulk series.

Maslany is best known for starring in the BBC America series Orphan Black, for which she was nominated for three Emmys and one Golden Globe during the show’s four-year run from 2013-2017. She won the Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2016.

Now she’s set to portray lawyer Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner, who finds herself with Hulk’s super strength and green skin after receiving a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Banner’s Hulk though, Walters can turn into She-Hulk at will, and does not need to rely on anger or adrenaline.

Mark Ruffalo, who portrays Banner in Marvel’s Avengers series, tweeted Maslany, “Welcome to the family, cuz!”

Two She-Hulk comic writers, Charles Soule and Dan Slott shared their praise for Maslany’s casting.

“Perfect.” tweeted Soule.

“So excited about this news! Congratulations, @tatianamaslany! I know you’re going to make an excellent Jen Walters/She-Hulk!” tweeted Slott.

The series’ has also brought on Kat Coiro as executive producer and director. Coiro, who has directed episodes of Dead To Me and Modern Family, is set to direct the pilot and several of the episodes in the series. Jessica Gao, who has written for Rick and Morty has been chosen as lead writer for the series.

Disney Plus has several Marvel shows in the works, including WandaVisionFalcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki, which are all scheduled to debut in the next six months.
