‘Taraji and Terrence’s White Hot Holidays’: Chris Brown Performance Slammed On Social Media
Taraji and Terrence’s White Hot Holidays Christmas special aired on Fox Wednesday, leaving many disappointed – particularly Chris Brown fans.
Taraji and Terrence’s White Hot Holidays
Following Empire‘s season 2 finale, its stars – Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard – hosted a Christmas variety show. Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Patti LaBelle, will.i.am, Jussie Smollett and Bryshere Y. Gray all turned in musical performances. Henson and Howard also starred in a pair of humorous sketches together.
Unfortunately for Brown, his performance ended up being the biggest story coming out of the special, as it fell well below expectations. After singing “Back to Sleep” followed by “This Christmas,” Twitter blew up with posters wondering what was wrong with the typically strong singer.
Chris Brown must’ve had a tall glass of that sizzurp before hitting the stage…cause… #WhiteHotHolidays #Empire

Brown, seeing all of the chatter about his vocals, explained in a since-deleted tweet, “Grind season been in full effect. Been under the weather.”
In a follow-up tweet that still remains on his account, Brown drew comparisons between himself and former NBA star Michael Jordan, who also didn’t always put on a stellar performance.
MJ didn’t score 50 every night. I’m just glad I was given the opportunity. #HappyHolidays ❤️
