‘Talk Like A Pirate Day’ Earns You Free Donuts At Krispy Kreme

Popular donut chain Krispy Kreme is celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day today by giving away free donuts to those participating in the pirate festivities.

Talking like a pirate will earn you one free donut, but dressing like a pirate earns an even better booty. According to the chain’s website, if you wear at least 3 pirate costume accessories like an eye patch or bandana, Krispy Kreme will give you a full dozen original glazed donuts.

While Krispy Kreme has celebrated September 19 in this way for years, this is the first year they will accept Snapchat photos as proof of pirate-hood. The shop created their own pirate filter for the occasion, and patrons can snap a picture and show a team member to receive a free donut as well.

In addition, the chain also created two pirate-themed donuts. One decorated with an eye patch, and one with a skull and crossbones.
