T.J. Miller Says He’s Unlikely To Work With ‘Deadpool’ Co-Star Ryan Reynolds After Awkward In-Character Interaction

T.J. Miller, who has been accused of sexual assault, arrested for making a bomb threat on an Amtrak train while heavily intoxicated, and accused of being a bully on the set of Silicon Valley by Alice Wetterlund, claimed that he himself was bullied on the set of Deadpool 2 by star Ryan Reynolds.

Miller spoke about Reynolds while being interviewed for The Adam Carrolla Podcast.

“I would not have done Deadpool 3 if they came to me and were like, ‘We want you to do Deadpool 3,’ and we’re going to pay you twice as much,'” he said.

Though given how radioactive Miller has become recently, there’s not a high chance of that happening.

He mentioned in the interview that he felt Reynolds was more down-to-earth while filming the original Deadpool in 2015, though Reynolds had been attached to the project since 2010.

Miller played Weasel, the friend and sidekick to Reynolds’ Wade Wilson/Deadpool.

“He wasn’t a huge, huge movie star,” Miller said, which is a little debatable to begin with.

Sure, Deadpool was Reynolds most successful role at that time, but he was already a household name and had played a superhero once before this.

Miller mentioned that Reynolds was “kind of an insecure dude,” and described a moment of improv Reynolds did that left him uncomfortable.

“[Reynolds] said, ‘Let’s do one more take.’ And then, as the character, he was horrifically mean to me as if I’m Weasel. So he was like, ‘You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition so that it’s funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie,” Miller claimed Reynolds said.

It’s a little strange for Miller to be taking something Reynolds said to him while filming a scene in character as more of a personal insult. Deadpool is infamous for breaking the fourth wall in his comic book appearances and these films, so it makes sense as a joke to attempt even if it didn’t land perfectly.
