The 2016 Golden Globe nominations were just announced today and among those who received nods was Sylvester Stallone for his supporting role in Rocky series spinoff Creed. Noticeably absent from the Best Actor, Motion Picture, Drama list, however, was star of the flick Michael B. Jordan. It no doubt comes as a blow to the actor who literally takes a blow in a behind the scenes video Stallone shared on Twitter yesterday.
In the video Jordan gets suckered hard straight to the face and falls straight to the floor. “getting KO’d for real! But he got up and did it again! That’s called guts!!,” Stallone wrote on the post, showing love for his on screen protégé.
Creed continues to show legs at the box office and was well received by audiences and critics alike, with many touting it as a welcome return to form for the fledgling Rocky franchise.
It’s hard not to feel bad for Jordan on missing out on a nod from the Hollywood Foreign Press. Surely getting knocked out for a role should automatically score you a nomination?
Jordan was lost out on a place in the category to Bryan Cranston, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender, Eddie Redmayne, and Will Smith.
