On Monday, Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell attended CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas to promote their movie Anyone But You, an upcoming R-rated rom-com.

While onstage to introduce the film, Sweeney, 25, said that they just wrapped “hours ago” in Sydney, Australia.

Powell, 34, quipped, “We love seeing ourselves on the big screen,” to which Sweeney replied, “Oh please, Top Gun,” a nickname that comes from Powell’s role as “Hangman” in the 2022 hit film Top Gun: Maverick.

The two continued their banter with Sweeney telling the audience that she thought Powell was Top Gun star Miles Teller “until the fourth day of shooting.”

Talking about the film, Powell said, “Sydney plays a character [who is] a real nightmare,” while Sweeney joked that Powell’s character is an “a–hole.” In Anyone But You, the central couple hate each other. “And what better place to put a nightmare and an a–hole than on the other side of the world in the most romantic setting imaginable?” Powell asked the audience.

Perhaps the buzziest news surrounding the film is that Powell and his girlfriend Gigi Paris have split, possibly amid speculation regarding his intense chemistry and close relationship with Sweeney. This comes from cozy photos that Sweeney posted to Instagram of the pair traveling around Australia together. Some fans even theorize that the co-stars are having an affair, which has only received further evidence after Paris unfollowed Sweeney on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Sweeney is engaged to Jonathan Davino, a restaurant owner and heir to a Chicago pizza dynasty.

While this could all just be clever marketing for the film, many fans are clamoring for the drama of an affair between the pair.
