Suzanne Somers, Iconic Star Of ‘Three’s Company,’ Dies At 76 After 50-Year Cancer Battle

After a 50-year battle with cancer, actress Suzanne Somers died on Sunday at age 76.

Somers, who starred in the iconic 1970s TV sitcom Three’s Company, went on to see success selling a line of wellness products.

“Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15,” Somers’ longtime publicist, R. Couri Hay, said in a statement to uInterview. “She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years.”

“Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce and her immediate family,” the statement continued. “Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.”

The actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 50s. She had previously battled skin cancer in her 30s and “two hyperplasia” in her 20s.

She frequently opened up about her journey with the disease.

“I have been living with cancer since my 20s,” Somers told Entertainment Tonight in July. “And every time that little f—-er pops up, I continue to bat it back.”

“I do my best not to let this insidious disease control me.”

According to Hay, “A private family burial will take place this week, with a memorial to follow next month.”
