Previously on Survivor, the Gen X and Millennials tribe were split into three new tribes, Vanua, Takali and Ikabula. After the split, only one tribe, Vanua, was left with more Gen X members than Millennials. The Immunity Challenge saw (yet another) laughable performance by Cece and David sending Vanua to Tribal Council. Back at Vanua, Chris and Zeke bonded over their Oklahoma roots and convinced David that Cece should be the one voted out. At Tribal Council, David sided with Chris and the Millennials to blindside Cece, making her the fifth person voted out of Survivor.
It’s Day 16 at Ikabula and the tribe is lamenting about their hunger and lack of sleep. In an interview, Jay cries as he talks about his single mother and how he wants to provide for her and his sister. Jay and Will break off from the rest of their tribe where Jay finds the hidden immunity idol. As the two make a plan to not tell anyone about the idol, Michaela butts in and notices the idol.
-Reward Challenge –
As the tribes are brought in for the Reward challenge, Figgy openly cheers and claps when she notices that Michelle wasn’t voted out last Tribal. Jeff addresses her reaction and Figgy tells everyone that she loves Michelle and that the two are really close (idiot).
The challenge consists of one member from each tribe as a caller, while the rest of the tribe must collect puzzle pieces and assemble a puzzle completely blindfolded. First tribe to complete the puzzle wins a pie, brownies, cupcakes, iced tea, and milk while second place wins a plate of cookies (yay Survivor diabetes!). Figgy, Michelle, and Jay are the callers for Takali, Vanua, and Ikabula respectively. As the challenge kicks off, David (shocker) struggles immensely to hear Michelle’s banshee shrieks and proceeds to wander blindly around the course. Figgy and Takali manage an early lead as they are the first to reach their puzzle. Despite an abysmal start to the challenge, Michelle and Vanua complete their puzzle first and win reward. Although Takali held a sizable lead at the beginning of the challenge, Jay and Ikabula manage to complete their puzzle before them, and win the plate of cookies. As the tribes are celebrating, medical is helping Hannah who suffered a panic attack while sitting out of the challenge (how did that happen?).
Back at Vanua as the tribe is enjoying their reward, Zeke comments in an interview that Michelle is a dangerous player. Zeke realized through Figgy’s comments at the Reward challenge that Michelle is well connected with the Millennials and could pose a threat in the future. At Takali, Figtails shares a kiss once Jessica and Daddy Ken leave the camp. Taylor tells Figgy that they should tell Jess and DK about their relationship because the Millennials have the numbers on Takali and nothing bad will happen to them. Figgy tells Jessica and Daddy Ken about “Figtails” and is genuinely surprised that they were already well aware of the two millennials’ relationship.
-Immunity Challenge –
At the Immunity challenge, tribes must race across a series of balance beams to collect bags of coconuts. Inside these bags are three balls which they will use to maneuver through a table maze. The first two tribes to get all three balls through the maze will win immunity. Surprisingly, David makes quick work of the balance beams and ends his streak of performing terribly in challenges. Takali again takes an early lead as Jessica and Figgy begin to work on their table maze. Michaela and Hannah are working on the maze for Ikabula as Michaela barks orders at Hannah and tells her to shut up (ugh poor Hannah). Michaela leads Hannah and Ikabula to a quick victory and gives tips to Zeke and Michelle of Vanua on how to complete the maze. Despite another early lead by Takali, they are surpassed by Vanua at the puzzle stage and are heading to Tribal Council. Taylor questions why Michaela helped Vanua and not Takali to which she responds “there’s three of you [Millennials] on your tribe, if you can’t figure out how to work together then you deserve to go home” (*snaps* preach Michaela).
Back at Takali Adam feels torn between which two pairs he should work with. Figgy tells Adam that Daddy Ken should be voted out because he will be a threat in challenges when the tribes merge (how dare you, Figgy). Learning that Figtails is voting for DK, Jessica tells Ken that he must talk to Adam and assure him of their loyalty. DK tells Adam that he and Jessica really respect him and that they’d much rather see him go further in this game than to play with a couple of “conniving kids [Figtails]”.
At Tribal the presence of Figtails is called out. Jeff makes a joke that since he is an ordained minister that he could marry the love birds right now if they wanted. Figgy hints to Jeff that should would do it, but when Taylor asks her if she is serious she plays it off as if she just wanted to be a part of a “Survivor first”. Daddy Ken states that Figgy’s comment about a Survivor marriage was her way of seeing if Taylor feels the same way for her as she does for him, but he didn’t take the bait (yesss read her, DK). Before the vote Taylor threatens Adam that if he flips the vote, he’ll get all the other Millennials “to vote his ass”. As the votes are read Figtails is blindsided as Figgy is voted out by a vote of three to two (thank you Survivor gods and Adam for saving Daddy Ken). Figgy wishes Taylor good luck as her torch is snuffed and she cries her way out of Tribal. The preview of next week’s Survivor shows Taylor seeking vengeance for Figgy’s blindside and David showing Zeke his idol as the two discuss forming an alliance. Tune in next Wednesday at 8pm EST for an all-new episode of Survivor.
