‘Superfly’ Actor Kaalan Walker Gets 50-Year Prison Sentence For Sexual Assault
Following his April conviction on several counts of rape and sexual assault, actor Kaalan Walker was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Walker reportedly lured aspiring models to meet with him through fake professional opportunities and then would assault them. These crimes go back to 2016 and his conviction accounts for assaults of four women and three teenage girls.
He had most recently appeared in the film SuperFly and had credits on the TV series In Contempt. He is also a rapper, and some of the false promises he made to his victims included having them appear in music videos and claiming they would get introduced to a famous friend.
The actor was initially charged with “three counts of forcible rape, two counts of statutory rape and two counts of rape by intoxication,” per the Los Angeles County DA’s office. He was first arrested for these crimes in 2018 and has been out on bail as the trial unfolds.
Walker’s defense plans to appeal the decision.
