Pop star Christina Aguilera posted photos of an extra-tight costume in honor of Halloween.
Dressed in a revealing orange and black bodysuit, posed around her house, Aguilera showed off her Halloween-themed tree and Nightmare Before Christmas decorations. Her photo carousel also featured a picture of her alongside her longtime fiancé Matthew Cutler. Cutler wore a plain black suit, as Aguilera must have been unable to convince him to participate in the holiday festivities.
Comments on the Instagram post reignited previous speculation about Aguilera’s weight. Earlier this year, Aguilera’s weight loss prompted rumors that she was using the drug Ozempic.
In an interview with Glamour in August, Aguilera shut down these comments: “I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f— about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on.”
She continued, “It must be your responsibility to take up your space. Other people’s opinions of me are not my business…I know where I’ve been. I know what I’ve loved. I know what I haven’t loved. And now, more than ever, I just feel more wide awake and more aware and more understanding. I’m not here to be a programmed robot. I’m here as a human being first, before being a celebrity.”
Aguilera has long been vocal about the media’s effect on her self-esteem, and the double standards that women face in the industry. She explained, “I’ve been shamed for being open, for expressing myself sexually and trying to own my body, and for trying to empower other women. People are afraid of that.”
Aguilera stressed her concerted effort to make sure her daughters do not experience the same body dysmorphia that others forced on her.
“Your kids trigger things in you that you don’t want them to go through,” she shared. “and it’s almost like you’re reliving this whole thing again.”
Ozempic, a diabetes medication that has recently become the weight loss drug of choice among celebrities, is highly dangerous for individuals not prescribed, as it can cause serious complications in the pancreas, kidneys, gallbladder, and thyroid, as well as intestinal blockage.
