A Los Angeles judge has ruled that Marion “Suge” Knight’s murder case will not be dismissed.
Superior Court Judge Stephen A. Marcus has decided to move forward with Knight’s murder case, despite the fact that a key witness in the case, Cle “Bone” Sloan, would not identify the rap mogul in court back in April.
Sloan was one of the alleged victims of the hit-and-run in January. At the time of the incident, Sloan reportedly told police that Knight was driving the vehicle that hit him and killed Terry Carter, 55, in Compton, Calif. In April, Sloan did not point the finger at Knight.
Knight’s attorney attempted to have Sloan’s testimony thrown own, but Marcus said that Sloan’s newfound silence doesn’t exonerate his client either, adding, “The only person who had a motive was Suge Knight.”
Former Death Row Records exec Knight had turned himself in for questioning after the incident and was later arrested on suspicion of a fatal hit and run. He has said that he was attempting to flee an ambush attack when the accident occurred.
Knight remains in custody on $10 million bail.
