Suge Knight, the former rap mogul, was pulled over by Los Angeles police officers who drew their guns, assuming Knight was armed.
Police had targeted Knight, believing that he matched the description of an assault suspect. Once they had him pulled over and outside his vehicle, police held their guns drawn as he placed his hands on top of his head.
Knight cooperated with police, allowing them to bring him to the police station where they interrogated him to find out whether or not he was the individual mentioned in the report. After Knight successfully convinced law enforcement he was not the man they were after, the police learned that the assault report may have been a hoax, reported TMZ.
Although Knight was ultimately released from police custody and no charges were filed, he is reportedly considering taking legal action against the Los Angeles Police Department.
Knight, the Death Records boss who boasted a close relationship with the late Tupac Shakur, has run into legitimate trouble with the law in the past. He’s been arrested and charged for both drug possession and assault, and has consequently served substantial time behind bars. After he was caught driving with an invalid license recently, Knight was sentenced to 3 years of unsupervised probation, which he is currently serving out.
