Boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard and his partner Anna Trebunskaya were sent home on Dancing With the Stars Tuesday night. After receiving a score of 21 out of 30 points, the duo was placed in the bottom two along with Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel, who received an 18. Audience votes weren’t enough to keep the former boxer from getting knocked out, though.
The duo performed a Viennese waltz, which turned out to be the wrong choice. Leonard was pleased with the performance, but upset with the results. “Being a fighter, there’s a part of me that’s screaming,” Leonard told Entertainment Weekly after the show.
Leonard is the third contestant to be eliminated from Dancing. Though fearless in the ring, Leonard even revealed that he was scared to appear on the show at first. “I’ve had the most phenomenal experience ever with a show that I was totally afraid of,” Leonard said.
The accident prone Kirstie Alley and the rest of the dancers continue to advance.
