Jared Fogle, the longtime Subway spokesman, will reportedly plead guilty to child pornography charges in a plea deal.

Jared Fogle To Plead Guilty

Fogle is expected to accept a plea deal Wednesday and plead guilty to possession of child pornography, reported FOX59. Fogle’s attorney Rob Elberger hasn’t released an official statement on the matter and deflected questions to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon in which the charges levied at Fogle and his plea deal will be revealed. The plea deal will come with prison time for the former pitchman, according to TMZ.

Last month, federal investigators searched Fogle’s Zionsville, Ind., home on a warrant in connection to a child pornography investigation. In the raid, investigators seized Fogle’s computers and a number of DVDs. It was thought at the time that the raid could have had something to do with the former director of the Jared Foundation, Russell Taylor, who was arrested in a child pornography case earlier this year.

When the charges were brought on Taylor, Fogle said that he was “shocked” about the allegations and announced immediately that The Jared Foundation would be “severing all ties” with Taylor.

Fogle shot into the spotlight roughly 15 years ago after losing a massive amount of weight while keeping to a strict diet of Subway sandwiches. Subway ended up hiring Fogle on to be the face of the brand, putting him at the forefront of their ad campaigns while pitching the health benefits of the chain’s offerings.

Following the raid last month, Subway cut ties with Fogle, removing his likeness from stores and the website. When asked to comment on the latest revelation in the case, Subway said, “We have already ended our relationship with Jared and have no further comment.”
