Clark Brewster, the lawyer representing Stormy Daniels, said that his client wore a bulletproof vest traveling to the courthouse former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial.
During an appearance on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360°, Brewster was asked if Daniels is afraid for her safety.
“Yeah, she has a lot of fear and – she really does,” he responded. “She was concerned about the security coming into New York. She wore a bulletproof vest every day until – until she got to the courthouse.”
“I can tell you that before she came on Sunday – I mean, she cried herself to sleep,” the lawyer stated. “She was very – she was paralyzed with fear, not of taking the stand or telling her story, but what might – some nut might do to her. And I’m genuinely concerned about it as well.”
A documentary on Daniels, Stormy, was released on March 18. It sheds light on her life following her alleged sexual encounter with Trump.
Journalist Denver Nicks, who worked closely with Daniels on the documentary, stated that she was confident that her life was almost over.
On May 9, the former adult film actress slammed Trump on X after testifying at his trial, suggesting that he is not “a real man” since he failed to “respond to testimony by being sworn in and taking the stand in court.”
The former president’s legal team tried to amend his gag order, which Judge Juan Merchan ruled that he violated ten times so that Trump could respond to Daniels’ testimony.
The team claimed that since she had already testified, she could not be intimidated, which might have affected the trial if she had not already been on the stand. They also said that she disclosed too much information about the alleged affair between herself and Trump. Merchan denied their effort to declare a mistrial.
Susan Necheles, Trump’s only female lawyer, tried to disparage Daniels’ testimony, claiming that she changed her story about the affair. The lawyer also called out the former adult actress for profiting from the case.
