Stormy Daniels‘ lawyer revealed the former adult film actress’ reaction after a jury found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts of fraud related to an alleged affair with Daniels. On Thursday, Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a felony in a historic verdict delivered by the 12-person jury.

Daniels’ lawyer, Clark Brewster, said the conviction “hit her hard.” Brewster implied Daniels may have been surprised by the verdict but was glad the matter was finally settled. According to Brewster, Daniels granted her attorney permission to share her thoughts but declined to do interviews “until the dust settles.”

“I think it was the culmination of a lot of things—the finality of it and, you know, the worry and nervousness that she had leading up to this,” Brewster stated. “It was more or less a relief that it’s over.”

Brewster revealed he and his client had a long and “poignant” talk about the situation. He said Daniels did not share any “true happiness” or other strong emotions about the case. Brewster added that he was “proud” of Daniels “for what she’s been through.”

In May, Brewster said Daniels wore a bulletproof vest while traveling to the Manhattan courthouse. He discussed Daniels’ fear for her safety on CNN with Anderson Cooper. In Daniels’ documentary, Stormy, Daniels also opened up about her safety concerns, saying she felt she was going to be killed for her involvement with Trump after receiving death threats and stalkers at her home.

Before Trump’s conviction, Daniels dissed the former President on X in May. Daniels said Trump wasn’t a “real man”after his legal team attempted to subvert his gag order to respond to her testimony.
