Steven Tyler Says He’s “Really Concerned” About Joe Perry

Steven Tyler said he is “really concerned” about Joe Perry‘s health and has been unable to contact his Aerosmith bandmate, who collapsed during a show with the Hollywood Vampires on Sunday.

“It’s starting to scare me a little bit,” Tyler told Billboard. “I know my brother. He’s just about the only other guy that’s as passionate about his art as I am. He’s always asking me to do three, four [Aerosmith] shows in a row, and I can’t. I’ll blow my voice out. I know how to maintain my career, my health and Joe’s passionate. I don’t think he knows how to. I think he’s out there and someone’s overbooking him.”

Perry was playing his eighth show in 10 days when he collapsed at the Coney Island Amphitheater July 10. This also served as Perry’s fourth show in the same amount of time with the Hollywood Vampires, the group that features Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.

Perry has since been hospitalized, with few specifics about his condition have been released. Perry is “stable and resting,” according to sources of Rolling Stone. The Hollywood Vampires have resumed their tour, but it is unclear if the guitarist will rejoin them, or be healthy enough to tour with Aerosmith this fall.

Tyler was not concerned about the the band’s upcoming South American leg of the tour. “I don’t give a shit about the band,” he said. “I want Joe to live. I’m really concerned and worried right now that I’m not getting any news. I’m a little bummed out, and that scares me. I don’t know whether it’s heat prostration or whether he’s been working himself too hard or getting off on wrong things passionately. I don’t know what it is, but I know that nobody’s talking to me. I can only tell you that Joe’s my brother and I love him so much.”
