Steven Adler, the original drummer for Guns N’ Roses, reunited with the band for a concert in Cincinnati, Ohio, Wednesday.
Adler last performed with Guns N’ Roses back in 1990, making his appearance with the band a complete shock for fans. For the show, Adler joined other Guns N’ Roses original members – frontman Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan – playing the drums beside Frank Ferrer, who has been touring with the band.
At the concert, Adler jumped in with Ferrer on just two tracks at Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium – “Out Ta Get Me” and “My Michelle.”
Adler left Guns N’ Roses after the 80s due to a battle with drug addiction and was replaced by The Cult’s Matt Sorum. When Guns N’ Roses reunited for the Not In This Lifetime tour, Adler was forced to turn down the chance to return because of a recent back surgery. It’s expected that Adler, who is now in good health, could be making additional appearances on the current Guns N’ Roses tour.
Guns N’ Roses’ Not In This Lifetime tour will wrap up in San Diego in August. The band is considering a U.K. tour in the near future.
