Jackass star Steve-O has been released from prison after serving only eight hours of a 30-day sentence due to overcrowding. Steve-O was sentenced following an anti-Seaworld stunt that sought to raise awareness to the company’s alleged mistreatment of killer whales.
Steve-O plead no contest to charges of trespassing and using fireworks and was sentenced in October. On Aug. 9, he scaled a large crane in the Hollywood Entertainment District, carrying an inflatable killer whale and wearing a Blackfish t-shirt. He then set off a number of fireworks, sharing the stunt on social media as he did it.
Before entering the Twin Towers Correctional Facility where he was due to serve his 30 days he posted a video of himself performing a back flip off its walls and captioned it:
“Here I am at jail. See ya when I see ya, folks! #yeahdude#SeaWorldSucks“
Steve-O, whole full name is Stephen Glover, shared another post upon being released, on which he wrote:
“After taking a hilarious mug shot, I wound up spending less than eight hours in jail. Thanks to all of the good people at Twin Towers Correctional Facility for making my stay a great one.”
Glover, 41, will still serve three years probation and has been ordered to stay away from the Hollywood Entertainment District.
