Former White House aide Steve Bannon issued a message to his supporters, saying their victory in this year’s election is imminent.
In July 2022, Bannon was found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to give documents to the House Select Committee on the U.S. Capitol riots after he had been subpoenaed.
A federal judge sentenced him to four months in prison for his charge in October 2022.
While still in his cell in Danbury Prison, where he is serving his four-month sentence, Bannon delivered his message in an op-ed for The National Pulse, a hard-right digital magazine founded by former Breitbart editor Raheem Kassam.
This op-ed had been published on Sept. 26.
“Recent shifts in the few reliable polls in key districts and swing states show that hard-pressed Americans are decisively rejecting the phony ‘politics of joy’ and the empty promises that define the vice president’s campaign,” Bannon noted in his op-ed. “People are seeing through the word salad rhetoric, recognizing it for what it is: hollow.”
He then noted that, so far, the vice president’s campaign “has offered no real solutions to the struggles Americans face: inflation, rising crime, and weakening national security.”
“These topics can’t be masked by feel-good phrases, celebrity endorsements, or as many [Oprah Winfrey] interviews as you want,” he asserted.
“Harris has peaked,” Bannon went on to say. “The momentum is now on our side, and this is the time to capitalize on it.”
“If the movement focuses all of its efforts on a massive get-out-the-vote and ballot-chasing effort in the crucial days and weeks until November 5th, we will win and win big,” Bannon claimed.
“The stakes have never been higher; this is the opportunity to take back control,” he declared. “We are not just fighting for a win; we are fighting for the future of America.”
“The reality is that there is no significant group of ‘undecided’ voters left regarding the candidates themselves,” he added.
“Remember: Victory is at hand,” he reminded them.
