Horror writer Stephen King took to Twitter earlier this week to compare Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump to Cthulhu, the fictional monster created by fellow horror author H.P. Lovecraft.
King, who often tweets pro-liberal, anti-conservative sentiments, did so again, this time offering in jest that Trump is in fact Cthulhu with a wig to “hide the tentacles.”
A few hours later, a Cthulhu parady account on Twitter responded with a letter on mock-official Cthulhu presidential letterhead. The account tells King that, “Trump could barely hope to be 1/63 as great” as Cthulhu, and that Trump could possibly reach his level of evil “if he weren’t such a buffoon.”
King’s original tweet garnered a lot of responses, mostly from fans agreeing with the sentiment.
