Stephen Collins Being Investigated By LA Sheriff's Department After Alleged Victim Comes Forward

Stephen Collins is being investigated by the LA County Sheriff’s Department for sex crimes after a second alleged victim came forward.

Second Stephen Collins Victim Comes Forward

Collins, who starred in the family drama 7th Heaven for 11 years, allegedly confessed to being a child molester in a 2012 therapy session with his estranged wife, Faye Grant. The recording of the session was leaked in early October, and was given to the NYPD. On the tape, a voice appearing to be Collins says that he exposed himself to three separate girls, two of which he names on the recording.

In a press release, Grant claimed that the tape had been given to the police in 2012, and denied any involvement in the leak. The Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department had previously investigated Collins for child molestation in 2012, but was forced to drop the case after failing to find a “substantiated victim.”

LA Sheriff's Department Re-opens Investigation

After the tape leaked on Oct. 7, the NYPD confirmed they were investigating Collins on allegations that the actor had molested a child in the early 1970s in Manhattan. Two days later, a woman identified herself as an alleged victim of Collins in Los Angeles. The woman claims to have been 13 in 1983 when the incident occurred in Hollywood, prompting the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department to open their own investigation on Oct. 9.

Police are now looking for the third victim mentioned in the leaked recording. The woman, who has been identified to the police, reportedly worked as a babysitter for Collins’ daughter 18 years ago. She was 13 at the time.

Furthermore, according to court documents, Grant claims that Collins admitted to have molested at least three young girls. “Stephen admitted that he has engaged in a long-term pattern of sexually abusing minor children, including sexually molesting three young girls over a decade ago,” Grant wrote in a sworn court declaration.
