George Stephanopoulos will succeed Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America starting next Monday, ABC will announce Thursday morning. The network passed over Chris Cuomo, who is in talks to move to 20/20. Stephanopoulos is reportedly planning to bring a harder-news edge to the perky morning show. He will be joined by JuJu Chang as the news anchor, who replaces Cuomo. No decision has been made yet on whether Stephanopoulos will continue to host ABC's Sunday news roundtable This Week.
