Steph Curry’s Wife Clashes With Paris Police While Carrying Newborn Baby After Olympic Victory

What should have been a moment of triumph for the Curry family following Team USA’s Olympic basketball victory turned into a distressing ordeal outside the arena on Saturday.

Ayesha Curry, wife of basketball star Stephen Curry, found herself in a tense standoff with Paris police as she attempted to reach her vehicle with her young children. The incident occurred as authorities cleared the road for French President Emmanuel Macron’s motorcade following the men’s basketball final.

Eyewitness accounts and video footage revealed a visibly upset Ayesha Curry, carrying her four-month-old son and accompanied by her six-year-old child, unable to cross the street to their waiting car. The family’s pleas went unheeded for several minutes as officers maintained a strict security perimeter.

Sonya Curry, Stephen’s mother, spoke up for her family, worried that someone had touched the baby during the commotion. A bystander tried to help by explaining in English that the road was temporarily closed because the president was about to arrive.

The situation escalated when Draymond Green, Curry’s teammate, questioned the officers’ actions, particularly after an alleged incident involving the infant. “So, even after him hitting the baby in the head, there’s still nothing y’all can do to get them out of here?” Green was heard asking in the video.

As tensions rose, Sonya Curry became increasingly frustrated, at one point exclaiming, “Stop saying my name. You should be helping us with the baby!” She later tearfully pleaded with officers to allow the family access to their vehicle.

Throughout the ordeal, Ayesha Curry remained silent but visibly distraught. Stephen Curry, fresh from his 24-point performance in Team USA’s 98-87 victory over France, was notably absent from the scene.
