SPOILERS: Who Does Ben Flajnik Pick On Season Finale Of 'The Bachelor'

Well Season 16 of the train-wreck we lovingly call The Bachelor has come to a close, and Ben Flajnik has made his choice, for better or for worse.

There are only two groups of people who ever thought that Flajnik would not pick Bachelor vixen Courtney Robertson to be his wife: those who live under a rock, and those who are delusional / mentally deficient / otherwise deranged. Though at times we wanted to think better of Bachelor Ben, it came down to one thing for him, and he … ahem … followed it, proposing to Courtney on a Swiss mountaintop, offering her a ring while the two promised to love each other "forever."

Meanwhile, he sent sweetheart Lindzi, the runner up, packing. Don't worry too much about Lindzi's future finding love, however. Remember that Ben himself was a runner-up on Ashley Hebert's season of The Bachelorette.

So what happened after the mountaintop, the ring, the tears of joy, and the guy-on-one-knee? The guy watched his own show, and saw his ladylove's true colors. "It's been a rough ride," Flajnik told Bachelor host Chris Harrison on the After the Final Rose special. "The woman that I saw on TV isn't the Courtney that I know," he added. "Those are the moments and the instances that led to Courtney and I not talking for a time while the show aired. We were essentially broken up."

What's that? A bachelor actually NOT remaining engaged to the woman he chooses at the end of his show? Could it be?

Not so fast. After Courtney showed up on the recap episode, she revealed that she felt "definitely responsible" for the behavior on the show that alienated a house full of 24 other women (minus her one ally, Casey Shteamer), and eventually her fiance to boot.

After she and Flajnik broke up, "there were days where I didn't leave the house, and I just laid there and cried … He abandoned me," Courtney said. Now, despite reports that Flajnik may have been cheating on Courtney after their engagement (which he denies), the dynamic duo are apparently back together, reports People. "We're engaged," he said, publicly proving tot he world that he's sticking by his mistake. "We're in a good place. Now that the main part of the show, and all the negativity is gone, it can only get better," he said.

Just like it has for every other former bachelor.
