SPOILERS: 'The Hunger Games' Welcomes Sam Claflin As Finnick Odair
Nobody minds Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson in fancy wear on the red carpet, but let's be honest: that's not why we love The Hunger Games. Newcomer Sam Claflin getting scruffy and shirtless on the set of Catching Fire, on the other hand, is. The handsome Claflin, previously seen in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Snow White and the Huntsman, will play Finnick Odair, the winner of the 65th Hunger Games who teams up with our heroes in the anticipated sequel. Lawrence and Hutcherson will be returning as revolutionaries Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark — the first duo to ever win the Hunger Games, much to the chagrin of Panem President Snow, played by the brilliant Donald Sutherland. While Liam Hemsworth, no less the warrior, will also reprise his role as Gale, Katniss' other love interest.
Other additions to The Hunger Games cast include Jena Malone (Life As A House) as Johanna Mason, Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Master) as Plutarch Heavensbee and Jeffrey Wright (The Ides of March) as Beetee. Production for the sequel officially began last week and will continue into December, first in Atlanta, Georgia, and later in Hawaii. Since the film won't be out until November 2013, we suggest you keep your eyes peeled for leaked pictures of your favorite characters on set!
