Southwest Airlines Disputes Savannah Chrisley’s Story About Being ‘Thrown Off’ Her Flight

Southwest Airlines has pushed back against Savannah Chrisley‘s claims about an incident during a recent flight.

Last week, Chrisley, 25, posted several videos on her Instagram Story about the events leading up to her boarding a flight from New York to her home in Tennessee. The reality TV star said that an airline attendant “threw her off the flight” after she declined to check her bag in despite being requested to do so.

A representative for Southwest stated, “Our initial reports indicate a different story than the one from the Customer’s account as she arrived at the gate late in the boarding process and repeatedly insulted our Employee after being asked to gate-check her bag. As a result, the Customer was denied boarding on her original flight, and we booked her on a later flight the same day.”

According to Chrisley’s videos, she asked to take her bag on the flight to see if she could fit it in the overhead bin. If she couldn’t find any room, then she would check it in at the gate. The attendant told her that she couldn’t do that and had to check the bag in.

The resulting argument made the pilot tell the attendant to “calm down” and that he would find room for Chrisley’s bag. The attendant then in turn told the pilot to “stay out of it” and threw Chrisley off the flight.

Chrisley insisted that she needed to get home on time because she was taking care of a 10-year-old, most likely talking about her niece, Chloe, who she became the primary guardian of after her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were sent to prison for tax fraud.

On Instagram, Chrisley thanked the pilot for stepping in and asked her fans to share their own airline stories.

Despite the argument, Chrisley was put on a later flight where she said that she surprisingly had an entire row to herself.
