Sophie Turner Responds To ‘Partier’ Claims, Says She’s A ‘Good Mum’ Amid Bitter Divorce From Joe Jonas

Actress Sophie Turner, 28, opened up about the challenges of being a mother in the public eye and reflected on the media’s portrayal of her personal life after her split from husband Joe Jonas, 34.

Turner, a mother of two young daughters, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1, shared her experience with the overwhelming pressure and the constant scrutiny she faces as a public figure in a candid interview with British Vogue

In September 2022, Jonas filed for a dissolution of his and Turner’s four-year marriage in Miami, citing an “irretrievably broken” relationship. The couple had a prenuptial agreement in place. Turner later took legal action and alleged that Jonas was wrongfully retaining their daughters’ passports and preventing them from returning to England.

In response to claims that Jonas abducted their children, Jonas responded via his lawyer, who said Jonas wanted “shared parenting” of their children, and they were never “abducted.” The representative said, “When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.”

Headlines that followed news of the divorce painted Turner as a partier and neglectful parent.

“I remember I was on set. I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks so that I couldn’t leave,” she said. “My kids were in the States, and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out. It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mom guilt is so real.”

Despite the challenges, Turner is determined to set the record straight. “I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mum, and you’ve never been a partier,'” she asserted.

After months of legal proceedings, the former spouses resolved in January 2023, having their filing dismissed “with prejudice, and without attorneys’ fees, expenses, costs and/or disbursements awarded to either party.” This development coincided with the approval of their parenting agreement in the U.K.
