Sony’s New Z Series 74.5-Inch Screen TV: Hailed As View Heaven For Connoisseurs

Sony just announced the release of a big-screen television that will set you back at least seven grand. The 74.5-inch model costs $9,999, but it’s being hailed as TV heaven.

Android Community reports, “The Japanese consumer electronics company is taking these new TVs to a new level with 4K HDR, ultra-contrast, realistic and accurate color, deeper blacks, brighter brights and more vibrant colors–basically just a great TV.”

The Z Series is the company’s latest in its line of 4K LCD TVs. 4K is the current craze in television development. It’s just another word for Ultra High Definition (UHD). A television with this kind of resolution possesses four times the number of pixels than what’s found in Full Resolution.

The specifics of the Z series all add up to a view like no other. It utilizes Sony’s innovative Backlight Master Drive technology. The powerful backlight improves overall brightness and contrast, as well as complements the sharp detail of the 4K HDR. The mechanics behind the Backlight Master Drive technology are actually a pretty big deal.

Engadget reports, “Backlight Master Drive is essentially a precision backlight technology that aims to provide the best lighting possible. There’s a dense LCD layer atop the TV that is coupled with a unique lighting algorithm to do the job.”

In addition, the Z series comes with Sony’s 4K Processor X1 Extreme. This packs in object-based HDR remastering, dual database processing and Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR. The operating system is Android TV–another neat feature. Users have unlimited Google Play access to install their apps, games and services.

Best Buy, Amazon and other retailers are accepting preorders now and expect to ship them out by the end of the summer. For those who crave an ever bigger screen, be on the watch for a 100-inch model that will be available later in the year at a yet to be determined price.

Pre-order the 64.5-inch model or 74.5-inch model for $6,999.98 and $9,999.98, respectively, at Amazon.
