Solange Knowles tried to give her brother-in-law Jay-Z a beating in an elevator leaving a Met Ball after party last week while her sister, Beyonce, calmly stood to the side.
Following the Met Ball on May 5, Solange, Beyonce and Jay-Z hit up the after party at the Standard Hotel’s Boom Boom Room in New York City’s Meatpacking District. At some point, tensions must have arisen between the trio, according to security footage from a hotel elevator.
Beyonce was already standing in the elevator when Jay-Z walked in followed by a disgruntled looking Solange in the video obtained by TMZ. Seconds after getting into the elevator, Solange lunges at Jay-Z, throwing punches. The rapper, instead of striking back, tries to put her arms down. A bodyguard not only intervened and tried to restrain Solange, but also pressed the emergency stop button on the 12th floor – presumably to keep the spat private.
While Solange repeatedly tried to get at Jay-Z, Beyonce declined to get involved physically. When Solange started to kick Jay-Z, the "Holy Grail" artist grabbed hold of her leg before she was pulled back away from him. Beyonce, who appeared to try to verbally calm her sister down, then stood in front of her husband.

Following the elevator incident, Solange led the way to the waiting car, with Beyonce and Jay-Z trailing behind. While Beyonce hopped into the car with her sister, Jay-Z took a separate ride.
Reps for the artists have yet to comment on the video leak.
