Sofia Vergara has personally announced that she and her fiancé Nick Loeb have decided to call off their engagement.
Vergara took to her WhoSay account over the weekend to reveal that she and Loeb had broken up, deciding to beat the press in breaking the news. According to the Modern Family star, it was their conflicting schedules that made the relationship increasingly more difficult.
“Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have desided [sic] to be apart,” Vergara wrote. “We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and becouse [sic] of my work and now his, it's been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore. “
“We are still very close but we belive [sic] is the best thing for us right now,” the actress added.
It’s rumored, however, that the real reason behind the breakup has to do with Loeb’s opportunistic tendencies. “He’s always trying to use her success to make himself successful,” a source told the New York Daily News. “I think she’s finally started to see him as the opportunist he really is.”
In addition to owning the Onion Crunch condiment brand, Loeb is apparently an aspiring actor. One part he’d hope to get was in the film Vergara is currently shooting, Don’t Mess With Texas. “He told her agent not to tell Sofia about it, because he wanted it to be a surprise,” the insider told the News. “Of course, he didn’t get the part.”
Vergara and Loeb began dating in 2010 and first split in May 2012. Just two months after the breakup, the two became engaged to be married.
