Sofía Vergara & Husband Joe Manganiello Announce Separation After 7 Years Of Marriage

Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello have decided to end their marriage after being together for seven years. In a joint statement, the couple stated that they still “love and care for one another very much” and they are requesting privacy “as we navigate this new phase.”

Reportedly, the two have been growing apart for quite some time and were taking space from each other in order to decide how to move forward with their future. In addition to this, they both felt that the passion in their relationship has died and are now focusing on different aspects of their lives. 

Rumors about divorce had already been going around among fans when Vergara posted photos from her birthday trip to Italy. Manganiello was nowhere to be found in the pictures, which led many to speculate that he did not join her on the vacation. In addition to this, Vergara was noticeably not wearing her wedding rings. 

Manganiello did share a message to Veragara on Instagram for her birthday. He posted a photo of the two of them hugging, captioning it, “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!”

Fans in the comments were not impressed by this caption, one saying, “Something is off. Cold message for her… And Sofia has not even said thank you.” Another fan wrote, “Oh no. There’s trouble in paradise. I can sense it. 😢”

In Vergara’s recent Instagram post of her wearing a blue leopard print bathing suit in Italy, her friend and costar Julie Bowen commented, “This is what single and 🔥 looks like!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”

Last month, the couple put their seven-bedroom and 11-bathroom home in Beverly Hills on the market for the second time this year.

Vergara and Manganiello first met back in 2014 when Vergara’s costar Jesse Tyler Ferguson introduced them at the White House Correspondents dinner. At the time, Vergara was engaged to Nick Loeb, but the couple split up a few weeks later. Manganiello reached out to Vergara through Ferguson and the two started dating shortly after. Vergara did share that at first, she was uncertain about starting a romantic relationship so soon after her breakup, but after her first date with Manganiello, he had won her over. 

That same year Manganiello proposed on Christmas Eve to Vergara and they married one year later in Florida at The Breakers Resort. 

The two have not yet publicly commented on the divorce.
