'So You Think You Can Dance' Finale Recap: Fik-Shun And Amy Named America's Favorite Dancers

So You Think You Can Dance crowned America’s favorite dancers last night in their season 10 finale: DuShaunt ‘Fik-Shun’ Stegall and Amy Yakima. The winning duo beat out runners-up tapper Aaron Turner and contemporary dancer Jasmine Harper, respectively, for the top spot.

As is tradition in So You Think You Can Dance season finales, all Top 20 dancers were back to perform the greatest hits of the season.

The Top 20 of Season 10, plus a few of their choreographers and judges, reunited to perform the first opening number of the season.

And many pairs and contestants were reunited to perform other of the season’s most memorable routines (Jasmine and Comfort’s hip hop, Tucker and All-Star Robert’s contemporary).

How did the victors feel about their win? Shocked, to say the least.

“Jasmine has the longest legs possible, and she’s like the humblest person I’ve ever met. It felt really amazing to be dancing with that type of person at the end,” Amy told EW.

Amy also posted a message to her fans on Instagram before her win Tuesday night, thanking them for their support: “The most crazy/amazing experience of my life! So honored to be given so many opportunities to live my dream.”

After the show, Fik-Shun revealed that he was sure he was going to come in second to Aaron.

“Honestly, I was expecting to be second, because I was in the bottom once. A lot of things went through my head…but at the end of the day, I put it all on the dance floor. It was never like, Aaron this or me that. We were always in it together,” Fik-Shun told EW.

Fik-Shun and Amy actually performed one of their very first routines together in the finale, a hip-hop choreographed by Napy Tabs, coming full circle in the competition.

When asked how it felt to win with his original partner, Fik-Shun admitted it was a bit mind-boggling.

“Yeah, like, that psyched me out. To think that from day one, when we got partnered up, that we would make it all the way? I was just, like, in shock. I’m so happy we had that,” Fik-Shun gushed.

Taking the stage in place of Fik-Shun and Amy, judges Mary Murphy, Adam Shankman and Nigel Lythgoe got onstage to perform their rendition of the “Let’s get It On” hip-hop routine choreographed by Christopher Scott and originally performed by Fik-Shun and Amy in the Top 14 performance.

Fox is re-airing the Season 10 finale Friday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. And So You Think You Can Dance has officially been picked up for an eleventh season and will return to air next summer.
