This week music publication Billboard shared a list of who it considers the Top 10 Rappers of all time. The list, which featured Lil Wayne, Eminem, Lauren Hill, Jay-Z, among others, with deceased legend of the genre Notorious B.I.G. taking the top spot, drew the ire of Snoop Dogg for failing to include Tupac Shakur.
The rapper, who showed no resentment over his own non-appearance on the top 10, took to Instagram to express his anger, sharing a picture of the list, accompanied by the caption:
“This is so disrespectful. !! Whoever did this list need a swift kick in the Ass. No. Tupac. Come on cuz ?. Jus my opinion”
Shakur was killed in 1996 when he was shot dead in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas and left a huge impact on the genre. He and Snoop were fellow west-coast rappers and label mates on Dr. Dre‘s Death Row Records.
In awarding east-coast rapper and Shakur’s historical rival, Biggie the top spot, Billboard wrote “unlike everyone else on this list, Biggie never dropped a single bad song, or a single errant bar.”
Someone who did approve of the list, however, was Ghostface Killah, who took the #8 spot. The rapper took to Instagram to show his gratitude.
