A Change.org petition to get Snoop Dog hired on as a legitimate Planet Earth narrator has been created.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Snoop Dog does a recurring segment called “Plizzanet Earth” in which he offers commentary on animal videos. The bit is so popular that one enthusiastic fan has launched a petition to get the rapper a gig on the real show.
“Snoop Dogg has narrated some Planet Earth in the past but yo we need him to narrate full episodes,” reads the petition to Animal Planet, the BBC and Discovery Communications. “Sign the petition if you agree.”
“We the people have agreed — we want Snoop Dogg to narrate full episodes of Planet Earth!” it continues.
When Snoop Dog got wind of the petition, he took to Twitter to endorse it.
“”Who made this ?? Lets get this s— going. who want more #PlizzanetEarth?!”
Kelly Ooton, who started the petition, couldn’t believe that Snoop was promoting it.
“DAAAYYYUUUMMM lmao you guys, Snoop Dogg has seen the petition and is promoting it,” she wrote in a petition update. “This is a HUGE development, and all I know is we gon keep this going! Thank you guys for all your support, and big thanks to Snoop Dogg himself!”
As of this posting, the petition has more than 50,000 signatures.
