‘SNL’ Roasts Kanye West’s Unsolicited Sketchers Visit Following His Antisemitic Comments

Saturday Night Live roasted Kanye West‘s recent unsolicited Sketchers visit during a hilarious October 29 spoof.

Their West-inspired sketch came just over two weeks after the rapper’s antisemitic social media posts, and three days after he showed up uninvited to the footwear company’s corporate office in Los Angeles.

“Here at Sketchers, we pride ourselves on two things: making stylish, comfortable shoes at an affordable price and having zero tolerance for antisemitism,” cast member Cecily Strong (AKA Sketchers marketing director) joked at the beginning of the fake advertisement.

Strong continued, “We were appalled by Kanye’s horrific comments and we vow to never work with him in any capacity.”

She poked fun at Sketchers’ relatively uncool reputation. “But, can we also point out that of all the companies he could’ve approached and been rejected by, he chose Sketchers.”

Two Sketchers executives escorted West out of the shoe company’s L.A. office on October 26.

“[Sketchers] is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech,” Sketchers said in a statement.

On October 8, West ominously tweeted that he was “going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”

The rapper wrote at the time, “You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

West’s Instagram and Twitter accounts have since been restricted.

Strong quipped during the sketch that West’s visit wasn’t shocking because “Sketchers has always been a hip, edgy company.”

“And besides, I’m sure Kanye will find some morally dubious company to work with instead,” Bowen Yang, playing a Sketchers corporate staffer, chimed in.

James Austin Johnson grinned and assured, “He sure will. It’s me, Mike Lindell, founder of MyPillow, and I’m happy to announce we are starting ties with Kanye West immediately.”

Lindell has spent $25 million to push the false narrative that Donald Trump actually won the 2020 election.

West is facing deserved consequences in the wake of his offensive comments. Adidas, Gap, Balenciaga, talent agency CAA and JPMorgan Chase have now all cut ties with the rapper.

Adidas said in an October 25 statement, “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

West is reportedly no longer a billionaire following the loss of his $1.5 billion Adidas deal.
