Stars like CSI: Las Vegas lead Gary Dourdan, The Cabin In The Woods actor Jesse Williams, and Kill Bill actress Vivica A. Fox turned up for the premiere of Sparkle, a musical film that follows the rise of three teenage sisters from Harlem during the Motown era.
Starring American Idol winner Jordin Sparks (above) in the role of musical prodigy Sparkle, the film also features Carmen Ejogo (below) and Tika Sumpter, who play Sparkle’s sisters, as well as music moguls CeeLo Green and the late Whitney Houston, who died three months after filming ended.
The film, which has been dedicated to Whitney Houston’s memory, gathered friends and family of the legendary singer on the red carpet, including her only daughter with Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Brown attended with rumored boyfriend Nick Gordon, who has been described as her adoptive brother because Houston took the boy in when his father went to prison. The pair revealed matching tattoos of Houston’s initials on their wrists. Other stars in attendance included former teen star JoJo (below), singer-songwriter Christina Milian, One Tree Hill regular Chelsea Kane, and Another Cinderella Story actor Drew Seeley.
