Simon Cowell, creator of the music talent television programs American Idol and The X Factor, had his London home burglarized on Friday morning.
Simon Cowell’s House Burglarized
Cowell, who was home sleeping with his partner Lauren Silverman and their son Eric Cowell, had cash and jewelry stolen from his 56-year-old house. According to TMZ, Cowell stated that his security guard was sleeping when the burglary occurred and the robbery’s money value was in the hundred-thousand-dollar range. Cowell’s first checked on his son Eric, stating, “Lauren [Silverman] was woken up with me and we checked on Eric. That was the first thing we did, to make sure he was OK.”
This is not the first time Cowell has been subject to a burglary scheme. In 2012, the music executive was watching television when he heard a shattering noise and found 29-year-old Leanne Zaloumis holding a brick smashing one of his windows. Zaloumis was later charged with aggravated burglary and sentenced to 12-months of community serviced and issued a restraining order.
