Veteran America’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell surprised his longtime girlfriend Lauren Silverman on Christmas Eve with a proposal on their vacation in Barbados, where they first met.
The couple first met on the Caribbean Island in 2004, and Silverman later became pregnant with their first son in 2013 while she was still legally married to her ex-husband Andrew Silverman. Their son, Eric Cowell, was born in 2014, and he was present for the proposal along with Silverman’s older son with Andrew, Adam.
Cowell told E! that becoming a father has made him “more focused” than before. “Now the house is full of people. It has become a home rather than a house,” he added. Silverman told People, “I think Simon has changed me. He makes me laugh all the time. I can’t get angry with him because when I’m trying to be cross, he just makes me laugh.”
