Simon Cowell will reportedly be joining the judges panel on NBC competition show America’s Got Talent.
Cowell is set to replace Howard Stern as a judge on America’s Got Talent. He will apparently be taking on the job in addition to continuing to serve as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor. Cowell’s desire to be on the U.S. version of AGT reportedly has to do with wanting to get back on TV in America.
“Simon has been off the television in the last couple of years focusing on family life,” a source told The Sun. “But with his comeback on British screens, he also wants to make his way back into America.”
“He feels this is his show and one of the biggest NBC has to offer,” the source added. “Now he’s clear of his old deal he can join the panel. And he’s more than used to the traveling.”
Stern has been serving as a judge on America’s Got Talent since 2012, when he took the place of Piers Morgan.
Cowell, who co-created America’s Got Talent with Ken Warwick and Cécile Frot-Coutaz, will join Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum on the panel.
During the America’s Got Talent finale Thursday, British ventriloquist Paul Zerdin was crowned the winner.
