Roy Horn, best known for starring in the magic duo show, Siegfried and Roy, died aged 75 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Las Vegas on Friday.
Siegfried Fischbacher, Horn’s longtime show partner, made a statement shortly after the death of Horn.
“Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend,” Siegfried Fischbacher said in a statement. “From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world.”
“There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried.”
The duo, based in Las Vegas, were renowned magicians peaked from the 1990s to the early 2000s before Horn suffered brain damage from the injury he suffered during a show in 2003.
The magicians retired in 2010 but remained active by showing up in some events as guests.
Horn is survived by his brother, Werner Horn, and his longtime magic partner, Fischbacher.
