Shona Carter-Brooks Defends Dragging Her Baby Down The Aisle On Her Wedding Gown

Shona Carter-Brooks was publicly bashed on the Internet, after a photo of her wedding showing how she dragged her 1-month-old down the aisle with her on the train of her dress.

Shona Carter-Brooks Addresses Critics

Carter-Brooks was married to Johnathon Brooks in late May and wore a floor length gown with a short train. Somehow, the Tennessee bride fastened her 1-month-old daughter, Aubrey, to the train and walked down the aisle trailing the baby behind her. After posting photos on Facebook, Carter-Brooks began getting negative feedback from commentators, including some people who said she should be reported to Child Protective Services, Carter-Brooks defended her decision on Facebook.

“People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most. We good though we covered by the Blood which never loose its power. So to the media, radio, news, and whomever else wanting to talk about what WE do here you go: Media Media I see how it works regardless the situation or purpose people gone have something negative to say! The answer is we do what we want when we want as long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine [sic],” wrote Carter-Brooks on May 28.

Shona Carter-Brooks Says Baby Was 'Secured'

The newlywed continued to assure readers that Aubrey was secure and awake during the ceremony and was unharmed, writing, “Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train. Most important while yall got ya feelings in us we had our hearts in Christ which covers all [sic].”

Later Carter-Brooks returned to Facebook to emphasized that she wasn’t going to listen to any of her critics and that she wouldn’t be continuing to engage with critics on Facebook.

On May 29, Carter-Brooks thanked her family and friends for supporting her, writing, “FB family & friends we are outstanding! See we not weary in well doing, for in due season this too shall pass! We rejoicing for we’re too driven to be drowned, victorious to be defeated, and content for God is able! We love you all for your support, love, and encouraging words! [sic]”
