Actor Shia LaBeouf thinks that his former Transformers co-star Megan Fox is uncomfortable with her sex appeal off-camera. LaBeouf claims director Michael Bay’s lack of tact contributed to her low self-esteem. "Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality," he told the L.A. Times. "It's summer. It's Michael's style. And I think [Fox] never got comfortable with it. This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it. When Mike would ask her to do specific things, there was no time for fluffy talk. We're on the run. And the one thing Mike lacks is tact."
Fox was replaced in the franchise by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a Victoria’s Secret model and action star Jason Statham’s girlfriend. "Rosie comes with this Victoria's Secret background,” said LaBeouf of his new co-star. “And she's comfortable with it, so she can get down with Mike's way of working and it makes the whole set vibe very differently.”
Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third film in Bay’s Transformers franchise will be released later this month. While Fox is currently filming the comedy, Friends With Kids, starring alongside Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm and Maya Rudolph, hot off the success of this years breakout comedy, Bridesmaids. The film, written and directed by Jennifer Westfeldt, will be released in 2012.
