While filming American Honey in North Dakota, LaBeouf was shooting a scene in which he had to put his head through a glass window, according to Variety. The stunt apparently went awry and left the actor with a deep gash on his head and a cut on his index finger.
“Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film, American Honey,” LaBeouf’s publicist Melissa Kates told People magazine. “As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head.”
Overall, LaBeouf reportedly received 20 stitches and 13 staples to his head and finger. He was expected to return to the set of American Honey today.
American Honey, writer-director Andrea Arnold‘s latest film, follows a teenage girl who travels around the midwest with a magazine sales crew, partying, breaking the law and falling in love. Arielle Holmes and McCaul Lombardi star alongside LaBeouf.
