‘Sherlock’ Set To Go To War In Special Episode Set In Victorian England

The classic detective duo of Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) are back in action for a one-off special episode of Sherlock that sure have fans reeling for a comeback since the end of the third season.

BBC One will be airing the episode in December and it will be set in 19th century Victorian England. It should be noted that this special will be run independently of the anticipated fourth season. “The special is its own thing,” says Steven Moffat, the show’s co-creator, “We wouldn’t have done the story we’re doing, and the way we’re doing it, if we didn’t have this special. It’s not part of the run of three episodes.”

The fourth season of Sherlock is set to be released in early 2016.
