Sharon Stone recently let it be known that she is single – and now that her kids are growing up – open to dating.

Sharon Stone Ready To Date

Stone, 56, had put her dating life on hold for the last several years while she was bringing up her three children – Roan, 14, Laird, 9, and Quinn, 8. She had adopted Roan with her second husband Phil Bronstein and adopted sons Laird and Quinn on her own in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

"What's happened is my kids have reached the age where I feel comfortable to date," the actress told Extra’s Mario Lopez. "I didn't want to date when they were little. Who needs a bunch of people running in and out of their lives? Now I feel comfortable dating."

Stone added, "I am available for dating."

Stone, who recently showed off her fit figure for Italian GQ, hasn’t always been quite as confident as she is now with her body. While she posed on the cover of GQ in a black mesh body suit in her 50s, the prospect of aging once took its toll on the actress.

"It hasn't been easy," Stone admitted in Shape's March 2014 issue. "There was a point in my 40s where I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door, and said, 'I'm not coming out until I can totally accept the way I look right now.'"

"I examined my face in the magnifying mirror, and I looked at my body, and I cried and cried and cried," she continued. "Then I said to myself, 'You're going to get old now. How do you want to do that?' I thought, 'I'd like to age like a dancer.' I want to keep my body in shape like that. I want to do the work. I like to dance and stretch. And I'm going to the gym."

Sharon Stone was last linked to Argentinian model Martin Mica, who is 27 years her junior. The two split after eight months of dating in 2013.
