Sharon Osbourne detailed her scary experience of taking Ozempic.
The TV talk show host spoke about her constant feelings of nausea when taking the drug. “At first, I mean, you feel nauseous. You don’t throw up physically but you’ve got that feeling,” Osbourne said during an interview with Piers Morgan.
Many of Osbourne’s fans have taken to social media to express alarm at her change in appearance in recent months.
Osbourne said there were times she felt nauseous the entire day and felt feelings such as a lack of desire. She also said she lost 42 pounds and did not intend to drop that much weight. This was a sign for her to stop taking the drug.
Sharon joined the interview with her husband Ozzy Osbourne, and children Jack and Kelly, who shared their views on her struggles.
Ozzy teased her about her frame, jokingly referring to her as “Nancy Reagan,” while her daughter Kelly, who also had issues with food, viewed her mother’s experience positively. “Seeing the confidence and seeing how good my mum feels in her body I think it’s totally worth it,” Kelly said.
Originally a diabetes medication, Ozempic has seen massive popularity as a weight loss drug. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea and sometimes vomiting. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has since updated the label of Ozempic and sister drug Wegovy, to acknowledge reports of the drug effects of blocking intestines.
