Shannen Doherty Expresses Hope About ‘Miracle’ Drug During Her Battle With Brain & Stage-Four Breast Cancer
Shannen Doherty has experienced a “miracle” in her battle with stage four breast cancer.
“I’m not gonna say what it is, I’m on a new cancer infusion, and after four treatments, we didn’t really see a difference and everybody wanted me to switch, and I just kinda was like, ‘We’re gonna keep going with this and see,'” the Beverly Hills, 90210 star said on Monday’s episode of her Let’s Be Clear podcast.
“And yeah, after the sixth or seventh treatment, we really saw it breaking down the blood-brain barrier,” she continued. “For me, that happens to be a miracle right now. That I sort of rolled the dice and said, ‘”Let’s keep going.'”
Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She entered remission in 2017, but the cancer returned at stage four in 2019. Last year, the actress shared that the disease had metastasized to her brain and bones.
“I’m not done with living, I’m not done with loving, I’m not done with creating, I’m not done with, hopefully, changing things for the better, I’m just not done,” Doherty told People following her second diagnosis. “My greatest memory is yet to come.”
In July, Doherty had a joyful reunion with 90210 costars Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Green.
