Shannen Doherty Brain Cancer Update Given By Brian Austin Green: ‘She’s Resilient’

Health updates regarding Shannen Doherty were usually given by the star herself. This time, though, her long-time friend and 90210 co-star, Brian Austin Green, is giving the updates.

“She’s doing great,” Green told E! News. “She’s resilient.”

“I mean, if anybody that I know is going to have to deal with what she’s dealing with, she’s the one that can get through it,” Green added.

Resilient she must be as Doherty has been spending her time having dinner with friends, reuniting with 90210 co-stars Green and Ian Ziering and vacationing in Italy with her best friend, Chris Cortazzo, since her last update that revealed that her cancer had spread to her brain.

Doherty’s battle with cancer began in 2015 and went into remission in 2017. Three years later, she announced that her cancer had returned and was at stage 4. Since her diagnosis, Doherty has gone through eight rounds of chemotherapy, a mastectomy and brain surgery.

“Our life doesn’t end the minute we get that diagnosis,” Doherty told ABC News after announcing that cancer had returned. “We still have some living to do.”
