After being canceled unexpectedly, Netflix’s Sense8 is returning with a movie to wrap up loose ends.
The sci-fi thriller will come back for a 2-hour special on Netflix. Despite many petitions and offers, Sense8 was unable to be revived for a third season, so the creators are doing the next best thing so as to not leave any plot threads undone.
Show actors Brian J. Smith, Bae Doona and Max Riemelt were spotted on set in Naples, one of the four confirmed locations. The others are Berlin, Brussels and Paris.
“But here is a gift from the fans of this show that I will carry forever in my heart: while it is often true those decisions are irreversible, it is not always true.” creator Lana Wachowski said back in June when they got the go-ahead for the film. “Improbably, unforeseeably, your love has brought Sense8 back to life.”
While the exact date has not been released, the Sense8 special will air sometime in 2018.
